The facility supplies pulverized coal to a high-temperature gasifier for integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power generation, driving a gas turbine with the produced H2 and CO gases for primary power generation. The waste heat from this process is then used to generate steam in a heat recovery steam boiler, which drives a steam turbine for secondary power generation in a combined cycle setup. Compared to traditional coal-fired power generation, this method offers higher efficiency and reduces CO2 emissions. Future plans include adding equipment to capture and store the CO2 generated.
